Women’s Cross Country Registers Four Personal Bests at Williams’ Purple Valley Classic

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Southern Vermont College women's cross country team tacked up four personal records Saturday at Williams College's Purple Valley Classic held at Mount Greylock Regional High School with two of those being first-time collegiate entries.

The Mountaineers finished 11th as a team in the 5000 meter event.

SVC will next head to Keene State College on Saturday, September 29 for an 11 a.m. start.

Southern Vermont was led by senior Maddy Main (Bennington, Vt.) who came through at 25:35. Freshman Liv Pressley (Richmondville, N.Y.) was next as she took 1:29 off of her previous-best 5k time for a 27:53, and sophomore Aliesha Thomas (Brooklyn, N.Y.) knocked 1:38 off of her PR to place third for SVC with a 28:56. Freshmen Marisa Moy (Framingham, Mass.) and Julia Ryan (Clifton Park, N.Y.) both competed in their first collegiate races and finished side-by-side with a time of 38:22.
