Women’s Cross Country Tackles Middlebury’s Aldrich Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College women's cross country squad competed in Middlebury College's Aldrich Invitational on Saturday to complete the first half of the team's regular season schedule.

The Mountaineers ran in a highly-competitive field which included Division I and II squads and totaled 76 finishers.

SVC makes the short trip to Mount Greylock Regional High School for its next meet with the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams College, being set to kick off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22.

Southern Vermont senior Maddy Main (Bennington, Vt.) was first across the line for the Mountaineers with a time of 25:36, and she was followed by freshman Ahmyria Simmons (Silver Spring, Md.) who came through at 31:22. Sophomore Alex Safford (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) rounded out the team's five scoring placements with her first collegiate performance.
