UTICA, N.Y. – The Southern Vermont College women's volleyball team fell 3-0 Tuesday night at the State University of New York Institute of Technology in a non-conference tilt at Wildcat Field House.
The Mountaineers were downed with straight set scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-21.
SVC saw a good amount of success on the attack, limiting itself to just 10 swinging errors on 78 attempts for a .179 clip while SUNYIT finished with a .210 attack percentage.
Mountaineer senior Jessica Delgado (Los Angeles, California) led the team with 10 kills and added 10 digs and six service aces to her line. Classmate Alexandra Sinicropi (Fultonville, New York) tied the match-high of 13 digs and chipped in with five kills and two service aces on the offensive end. Sophomore Brin Goldman (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) tallied six kills and five digs in the effort while junior setter Sheilani Kaleopa (Riverside, California) had 16 assists, four digs and two aces from behind the line.
SUNYIT sophomore Emma Larson (Miller Place, New York) led all players with 12 kills, adding seven digs and a contest-high seven service aces. Junior libero Erika Reakes (Brewerton, New York) matched Sinicropi's 13 digs while sophomore setter Rebecca Sheely (Schuylerville, New York) facilitated the offense with 30 assists.
Southern Vermont (4-7) looks ahead to its 6 p.m. Friday match at home against State University of New York at Potsdam, and the Wildcats (11-11) prepare for the North Eastern Athletic Conference North Divisional Weekend, matching up against league foes Keuka College (4 p.m.) and Cazenovia College (6 p.m.) at CC on Saturday.
