Women's Basketball Topped at Sage 86-31

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Southern Vermont College women's basketball team lost on the road Wednesday night, 86-31, to The Sage Colleges in non-conference action at Kahl Gym.

Mountaineer sophomore captain Amber Flagg (Windsor, Conn.) recorded a game-high 14 points in the loss while junior Carlee Hirt (Beacon, N.Y.) led the Gators with 11.

Sage opened with a 34-16 halftime lead and held a 47-33 edge on the boards in the win.

Flagg added five steals and four assists while sophomore Sarah McDonald (Cohoes, N.Y.) had six points, three boards and two steals. Sophomore Javasha White (Schenectady, N.Y.) led the Mountaineers with six rebounds.

Sage freshman Krystyn Knockwood (Troy, N.Y.) had 10 points off the bench for the Gators to go along with four boards and a block, and junior Megan Bowman (Dannemora, N.Y.) added eight points and a game-best six assists.

The Mountaineers (0-3) are right back at it Thursday night with a 5 p.m. tip at Green Mountain College while Sage (2-1) looks to its Saturday visit to Utica College for a 2 p.m. start.
