WESTON, Mass. – The Southern Vermont College outdoor track and field team completed its final season with the 2019 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championships at Regis College. The meet was an inter-conference title event which included squads from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference and the North Atlantic Conference.
One of the six SVC entries went for a personal record with sophomore Omar Santiago-Rodriguez (Stanfordville, N.Y.) breaking his previous best in the 400 meter dash.
Santiago-Rodriguez knocked 1.54 seconds off his time in the one-lap race to chalk up a mark of 58.73. Freshman Osman Padilla (El Paso, Texas) came just .02 meters from his personal record in the long jump as he leapt 4.73 meters to take fifth in the NECC standings.
