Padilla Registers Solid Showings in Track & Field’s Season Opener at Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Southern Vermont College freshman Osman Padilla (El Paso, Texas) made his way to Wesleyan University on Saturday to participate in the team's 2019 season-opening meet and the Cardinals' Spring Classic.

The Mountaineer made entries into a pair of events—coming just fractions of a second shy from cracking the team's all-time lists in both of them.

Padilla posted a 19th-place finish in the 100 meter dash with a mark of 12.89 seconds; that was only .57 seconds off from SVC's sixth-best finish in program history. He was then 15th overall in the 200 meter dash with a 26.70—coming just .29 seconds behind the team's eighth-best all-time showing.

Next up on the schedule for Southern Vermont is the Corsair Classic to be hosted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Saturday, March 30.
