ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) announced on Tuesday its first batch of weekly awards for the 2018 fall seasons with Southern Vermont College sophomore C.G. Holden (Pittsburgh, Pa.) being tabbed as the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

The honor is the second NECC laurel for the Bennington College student as he was named the league's Rookie of the Week once in 2017.

Holden finished first for Southern Vermont during the SVC Mountaineer Invitational—placing fifth overall, with a time of 18:55 on the 5000 meter, mountainside course. His pace of 5:32 per mile was 31 seconds faster than the time he posted at the same event last year.

Holden and the Mountaineers now look ahead to their next meet which will be SVC's first 8000 meter race of the year; the Castleton Invitational is set to begin at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
