Men’s Cross Country Concludes Regular Season at Golden Bear Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Three members of the Southern Vermont College men's cross country team competed at Western New England University's Golden Bear Invitational on Saturday in what was the Mountaineers' final meet of the regular season.

Among those three was Bennington College sophomore C.G. Holden (Pittsburgh, Pa.) who set a new personal record.

The Mountaineers will take next weekend off as they make final preparations for the New England Collegiate Conference Championship set to take place at Elms College on Saturday, October 27.

Holden knocked off 35 seconds from his previous best to post a 28:16 and cross the line first for SVC. Senior Isaiah Backels (Weare, N.H.) was next for the Mountaineers with a 32:26, and freshman Marcus Tucker (Greenwich, N.Y.) followed at 39:04.
