Men’s Cross Country Competes at Challenging Aldrich Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College men's cross country team completed the first half of its regular season Saturday as the Mountaineers participated in Middlebury College's Aldrich Invitational.

SVC placed sixth out of the nine teams that registered scores in a field that included Division I and II squads.

Southern Vermont now prepares for the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams College at Mount Greylock Regional High School on Saturday, September 22; that 5000 meter race is slated to begin at 11:30 a.m.

The Mountaineers were led by junior Davanté Smith (Ellenville, N.Y.) who came through at 30:47—being shortly ahead of Bennington College sophomore C.G. Holden (Pittsburgh, Pa.) who posted a time of 30:54. Freshman Rudy Moncada (Mission, Texas) ran his first collegiate 8k and crossed the line at 48:02.
