NECC Tabs Ramirez MVB Rookie of the Week for Second Time

BENNINGTON, Vt. — For the second time of the season, Southern Vermont College freshman Stewart Ramirez (Los Angeles, California) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week as announced by the league on Sunday for the period ending March 1, 2015.

Ramirez had another strong week for the Mountaineers, hitting .440 across a pair of wins to help SVC stay undefeated in NECC action. The rookie notched 4.67 kills per set with a match-best 14 kills in each contest, adding eight and seven digs against Newbury and Regis, respectively. Ramirez totaled only six hitting errors on 50 swings for the week and registered a pair of block assists in Saturday's win over the Pride.

The rookie and the Mountaineers are back at it this week with a pair of league matches, first visiting Endicott College on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. tilt between the only two teams unbeaten in Conference play.
