  • Blazers Advance Past Mountaineers in Men's Volleyball Semi-Final

    Playing as the #3 seed, Southern Vermont took a convincing 25-17 set one victory and nearly forced a fifth and deciding set but ended their historic season 12-19 overall. The Mountaineers were led offensively by sophomore Anthony Barahona (Eagle Rock, Calif.) and freshman Gabriel Franco (Pico Rivera, Calif.) who totaled nine and seven kills, respectively, in the loss.

    ENDICOTT, MA- For the third time in as many weeks the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers and the Elms College Blazers will meet up in Men’s Volleyball action. However, Friday evening’s match will have more at stake when the two sides meet in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) semi-finals at Endicott College at 7:00PM.
  • Mountaineers Rally Back for Senior Day Victory

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- In a hard fought battle, the Southern Vermont College Men’s Volleyball team rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Elms College Blazers in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action. The two sides played to an exciting atmosphere the entire night that started with the Mountaineers recognizing its seniors and ended with a 3-2 SVC victory by scores of 28-30, 22-25, 25-22, 25-11, and 19-17.
  • Mountaineers Reach 10 Wins with 3-0 Sweep over Lesley

    CAMBRIDGE, MA – The Southern Vermont College Men’s Volleyball team improved to 7-3 in New England Collegiate Conference play, Saturday night with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-13) win over host Lesley University, at the Nicholas Athletic Center.
  • Men's Volleyball Tripped Up By Elms

    CHICOPEE, Mass. – After leading 2-1, Southern Vermont College fell 3-2 in Men’s Volleyball action at Elms College in a New England Collegiate Conference match up, Thursday evening. The match was a pivotal match for both teams as Elms came into the match leading SVC by one game in the standings. With the win, Elms remains unbeaten against Southern Vermont and improves to 15-6 overall, 7-2 in NECC play, while the Mountaineers fall to 9-15 on the season, 6-4 in conference action.
  • Mountaineers Host Block Party Against Newbury

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College Men’s Volleyball held a block party Wednesday evening as the Mountaineers blocked the visiting Newbury College Nighthawks 12 times in its 3-0 victory at the Mountaineer Athletic Center, in New England Collegeiate Conference (NECC) Men’s Volleyball action.

    The Mountaineers dropped four matches this past weekend at a weekend tournament hosted by Endicott College. Southern Vt. played four matches in a two day stretch against Endicott, Vasser, New Paltz St, and Hunter.
  • A Splitting Weekend for Men's Volleyball

    PROVIDENCE, RI- The Southern Vermont College Men’s Volleyball team went 2-2 this weekend at the Johnson and Wales Tournament, to finish 3rd place. The Mountaineers opened the tournament with a non conference loss to Daniel Webster, then won against SUNY IT and CCNY, before ending the weekend with a loss to Johnson and Wales.
  • Mountaineers Fail To Get Above .500 Plateau

    Albany, NY--- For the second time in 2012 the Southern Vermont College men’s volleyball team had a chance to go above .500. In both instances the Mountaineers had to take on the Sage Gators. Wednesday evening in the Kahl Center, the Mountaineers fell to Sage for the second time this season. The Mountaineers held a 2-0 advantage but the Gators erased the deficit to post a 3-2 win, (20-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-9).
  • Volleyball Sets Program Win Mark with 3-0 Sweep over Regis

    WESTON, Mass.- The Southern Vermont College Men’s Volleyball team made history Thursday evening with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-5, 25-8) victory over Regis College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action. The Mountaineers won its sixth game of 2012 Thursday night, at the Teresa Higgins Gymnasium, which is the most in Men’s Volleyball program history. The Pride moves to 1-10 overall on the season and 0-6 in NECC play.
  • Volleyball Sweeps Lynx

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- The Southern Vermont College Men’s Volleyball team swept the Lesley University Lynx 3-0 in Men’s Volleyball action Saturday afternoon. The Mountaineers used a strong offense with a .310 hitting percentage along with a solid defensive effort to hold the Lynx to a .043 hitting clip.
  • Mountaineers Fall to Endicott in NECC Showdown

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- Saturday afternoon the Endicott Gulls and the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers Men’s Volleyball teams each put its undefeated conference record on the line, at the Mountaineer Athletic Center. In the end the Gulls remained undefeated in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play with a 3-0 victory, 25-23, 28-26, and 25-21.
  • Gators Chomp Men's Volleyball's Win Streak

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- Riding a four game win streak it looked as if SVC was on its way to another win Thursday evening after the Mountaineers rattled off a first set victory 25-15. Then the Sage Gator came roaring back and won the next three sets to take a 3-1 victory at the Mountaineer Athletic Center in non-conference Men’s Volleyball action.
  • Mountaineers Sweep Tri-Match

    The Southern Vermont College Men’s Volleyball team swept Saturday afternoon’s tri-match at Newbury College between the Nighthawks and Wentworth Institute of Technology. The Mountaineers won its first game against Wentworth 3-0 and after dropping the first set won the next three against Newbury to win 3-1, in NECC action.

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- After a tough weekend where the Southern Vermont College Men’s Volleyball team played against three of the top ten teams in the country, they returned home Tuesday evening for a New England Collegiate Conference match-up against Regis College. The Mountaineers used a strong offense to power past the Pride 3-0 at the Mountaineer Athletic Center.
  • Men's Volleyball Drops Two to Open Season

    ROCHESTER, NY- A young Southern Vermont College Men’s Volleyball team was thrown right into the fire when the Mountaineers took on #3 Carthage and #8 Philadelphia Bible to open its season. SVC fell 3-0 in both games Friday evening at the Nazareth tournament.
