    BROOKLINE, Mass. – Men’s Volleyball season came to an end tonight losing to Newbury College 3-0 in the Semifinals of the NECC Playoffs. SVC finished its season with a school record five wins, defeating 2009’s two wins.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Men’s Volleyball team ended the regular season on a high note defeating Sage College 3-1. SVC improved to 5-17 and Sage fell to 13-10. The Mountaineers also recognized its three seniors Aaron Eschler, Neel Patel and Jose Taveras.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Derek Portugal and freshman Ross Burdett combined for 42 kills over two matches as the Wentworth men’s volleyball team swept a pair of North East Collegiate Volleyball Association New England Division matches, defeating Elms, 3-0, and Southern Vermont, 3-0. In the day’s middle match, Elms swept Southern Vermont, 3-0.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT compiled a 25-12, 25-16, 25-15 victory over Southern Vermont College in a North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division men’s volleyball match on Friday night. With the win, the nationally-ranked No. 11 Engineers raised their ledger to 15-4 on the year and 9-0 in conference play while the Mountaineers dipped to 2-10 overall and 2-6 in the New England Division.

    WESTON, Mass. – The Southern Vermont College men’s volleyball team won its first match of the 2011 season and the first under new Head Coach Joshua Stokes as it cruised past the Pride of Regis College 3-1 Saturday. The Mountaineers were led by freshman Anthony Barahona who hit a whopping .538 (16 kills, two errors, 26 attempts) on the attack.

  • Stokes Named Volleyball Coach

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College Athletics Department appointed Joshua Stokes as the new head volleyball coach during the summer. Stokes was most recently the assistant women’s volleyball coach at State University of New York at Potsdam. His duties at Southern Vermont include coaching both the women’s program that plays in the fall and the men’s that runs in the spring.
