    WALTHAM, MA.- The number one seed Brandeis University survived a scare from eighth seeded Southern Vermont College in the first round of ECAC Men’s Soccer action Wednesday night. The host Judges scored a goal in each half to end the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) regular season champion, Mountaineers, season.

    WALTHAM, MA- The Southern Vermont Men’s Soccer team earned a berth to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) post-season Monday afternoon. The ECAC invites eight teams from the region that do not qualify for the NCAA tournament and have an above .500 record. Southern Vermont will take on New England region, number one seed, Brandeis University. SVC will travel to Brandeis Wednesday evening at 7:00PM.
  • Lesley Shocks Mountaineers in Championship Game

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- The Lesley University Lynx won its first ever New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship, Sunday afternoon at Everett field against the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers. Lesley used two goals in each half, and an Ali Sozeri (Istanbul, Turkey) hat trick to secure its NCAA berth.

    BENNINGTON, VT- Senior mid-fielder Noah Massucci (Craftsbury, VT) contributed on all four of the Southern Vermont goals, Friday afternoon. Massucci led the host Mountaineers to a 4-1 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) semi-final victory, over fifth seeded Elms College. Massucci scored two second half goals and had two second half assists for the Mountaineers in the win.

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- The Southern Vermont Men's Soccer team took one more step towards a regular season conference championship Monday afternoon. The Mountaineers used two Noah Massucci (Craftsbury, Vt.) second half goals to beat the Lesley Lynx 2-1, at Everett Field. The Mountaineers, 11-4-1 and 6-0-1 in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play, need a win or tie Saturday against Wheelock College in order to win the regular season crown.

However the Mountaineers used a late goal to spoil Newbury's hopes as the two teams settled for a 3-3 tie.

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- There wasn’t a lack of offense Tuesday afternoon when Southern Vermont College hosted Becker College in Men’s Soccer action. The Mountaineers came away with a 4-2 victory in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play at Everett Field. The two team not only combined for six goals, they combined for 42 shots.

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- For the first time in SVC Men’s soccer history, the Mountaineers beat MCLA. Tuesday afternoon Southern Vermont used a goal in each half to top the TrailBlazers 2-0 at Everett Field, in NCAA non-conference action. The win was the first for Southern Vermont in 15 tries, dating back to 1993 when the schools’ first met.

    Chicopee, MA- After battling to a 0-0 first half draw, the Southern Vermont College Men’s Soccer team used four second half goals to win its fourth New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) match of the season. The Mountaineers scored four goals within a five minute span to secure a 4-1 victory over host Elms College.

    Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – Senior Diego Reinero scored in the 98th minute to lift the Skidmore College men’s soccer team to a 4-3 OT victory over Southern Vermont, Tuesday night at Wachenheim Field. The Thoroughbreds improve to 5-7, while the Mountaineers fall to 7-4.

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- In a rematch of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship game a year ago, the Southern Vermont College men’s soccer team will host Daniel Webster College. A year ago Daniel Webster won 2-0 in the championship game, advancing to the NCAA tournament.

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- For the first time in five years the Southern Vermont College Men’s soccer team knocked off Daniel Webster College. SVC last beat Daniel Webster on October 8th, 2006. During that span the Mountaineers have lost six times including twice in the NECC Playoffs. Saturday’s meeting was the first time SVC hosted Daniel Webster in the last four matches.

    COBLESKILL, NY- Senior captain Nick Haggerty continued his two week tear Tuesday afternoon, as the Southern Vermont College Men’s Soccer team beat SUNY Cobleskill 3-1. Haggerty, who has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week two straight weeks, scored two goals for the Mountaineers in Tuesday’s victory at Cobleskill. The two goals are the seventh and eighth goal in a four game stretch for the senior forward.

    BENNINGTON, Vt.- Reigning New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Year Nick Haggerty started the conference schedule off with a bang. Haggerty led the Southern Vermont College Men’s Soccer team to a 5-2 victory over visiting Regis College. The senior captain scored four times for the Mountaineers which improved to 2-2 in NECC openers. The game was Regis’ first ever NECC match up.
  • Massena’s Two Goals Lead Mountaineers Past Sage

    BENNINGTON, VT- For the third time in the 2011 season Pierre Massena scored two goals in a match for the Southern Vermont College Mountaineers. Also, for the third time this season the Mountaineers came away victorious. Massena scored the opening goal of the game 23 minutes in and added another five minutes into the second half to lead SVC past the visiting Sage Gators.
  • Men's Soccer Announces 2011 Incoming Class

    Southern Vermont College Head Men’s Soccer Coach Tim Penrod is pleased to announce his incoming class for the 2011 soccer season. The initial class includes 2 transfer student-athletes and 10 incoming freshmen from six states across the country. The 2010 team made it to the New England Collegiate Conference Championship match before falling to Daniel Webster College.
