    CAPE COD, Mass. – Southern Vermont College Mountaineer forward Nick Haggerty was named to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference 2009 Division III New England Men's Soccer All-Star First Team Wednesday. Haggerty, a sophomore criminal justice major, tallied 41 points and helped lead SVC to the NECC Semifinals.

SVC goalie Elias Skiff had three saves and the Mountaineers outshot the Mariners but could not get one by GK Kevin Woodford as the wind and rain pounded each team.

Skidmore had goals from Alex Amini, Doug Yeates, and Sam Glickman in the victory. SVC’s Elias Skiff laid himself on the line at the goalie spot making six saves in the effort.

Haggerty scored two goals and one assist in a 5-0 rout of Green Mountain, while tallying a hat-trick including the game winner in a 6-0 shutout over NECC opponent Wheelock. For the week, Haggerty had four goals and two assists for ten points for the Mountaineers.
