Baseball Falls 8-0 to Muhlenberg in Day 2 of Bison Classic

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Southern Vermont College was blanked 8-0 by Muhlenberg College at Hoy Field Saturday in non-conference baseball action during the second day of Gallaudet University's Bison Classic.

The Mules put up three runs in the home half of the second before notching a pair in the sixth. MC chalked up three more in the eight for some extra separation and finished off the shutout in its season opener.

The Mountaineers (1-2) now look ahead to a twin bill at SUNY Maritime College next Saturday, March 3 with first pitch slated for 11 a.m.

SVC senior third baseman John Arancio (Oradell, N.J.) went 3-4 at the dish with a double while freshman second baseman Will Iannacone (Winchendon, Mass.) was 2-3 with the stick.

Southern Vermont junior right-handed pitcher Dan Mason (Bloomingdale, N.J.) took the loss (0-1) with his first collegiate start on the hill—giving up three runs (one earned) through the first two innings of play.
