Becca Swart was brought on for a full-time position in Southern Vermont's Athletic Training Department in September 2017 after working in a contracted, per diem role for the College since November 2016.
In conjunction with working at SVC, Swart garnered additional collegiate training experience while spending time in a similar capacity at Middlebury College since January. She received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree from Castleton University in May 2016 before obtaining her athletic training certification the same month.
While completing her coursework at Castleton, Swart spent time as a head athletic training student at Otter Valley Union High School in Brandon, Vt. during the 2015-16 academic year. She also helped the Castleton women’s soccer program in the fall of 2015 after working with the Spartans’ women’s ice hockey squad for the 2014-15 campaign.
The Connecticut native is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and was the secretary of Castleton’s Athletic Training Club while an undergraduate. She was a co-presenter for “Promoting Best Practices in Youth Athletic Safety” at the Vermont Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance’s November 2015 conference, as well as “Spineboarding Techniques for an Athlete Wearing Protective Equipment” at the Castleton Athletic Training Club’s August 2015 meeting.
