Paxton Boyer was appointed as the second-ever head coach in Southern Vermont women's lacrosse history in July 2018.

Boyer is a native of the Green Mountain State who grew up in Northern Vermont before graduating from Lamoille Union High School. She only played her freshman collegiate season at Division II’s Alderson Broaddus University before her career was cut short due to injury. However, she remained on the team’s sideline through graduation and grew a desire to coach the sport.

Boyer went from being ABU’s manager in 2015 to being a coaching intern for the Battlers’ 2016 campaign; she then served as a student assistant coach for the next two seasons before garnering her diploma from Alderson Broaddus in December 2017. After graduation, Boyer stayed in West Virginia and became an assistant coach for Davis & Elkins College—another DII program.

Boyer brought a great deal of knowledge and experience to SVC—especially at the goaltending position. As a freshman Battler, she recorded the second-most saves in a single season with 122 in ’14; helping her get there were the second and third-highest save marks in a game with 24 and 19, respectively. She also charted a Vermont state record while at Lamoille Union with 1,007 career stops. As a LUHS senior in 2013, Boyer was selected to the Vermont Division II Coaches’ All-First Team.

Boyer graduated from ABU with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training while also completing a double minor in Strength & Conditioning and Coaching. She has been CPR, AED, and first aid certified since 2014.
