Tyler Arthur joined Coach Skonieczki as Southern Vermont’s pitching coach in January 2018.
Coach Skonieczki was the head assistant at Georgetown College for three seasons of Arthur’s career as a Tiger (2013-15). Arthur had an illustrious tenure at Georgetown—being named an NAIA All-American in both 2012 (Second Team) and 2014 (Honorable Mention); in each of those years, he was also selected to the All-Mid-South Conference First Team while being tabbed the league’s Pitcher and Freshman of the Year in ‘12.
Upon graduating from Georgetown in May 2016 with his bachelor’s degree in communications & media studies, Arthur sat at the top of GC’s career record lists for wins and innings pitched. In Tiger history, he is also at seventh (1.63, 2014) and ninth (1.68, 2012) for the best single-season earned runs average, second (10, 2012) and eighth (8, 2014) for the best single-season wins mark, and third (76, 2012) for the most strikeouts in a year.
Arthur helped Georgetown to the NAIA World Series in 2014 as the Tigers posted their best-ever record with a mark of 46-10. That was after his 2012 squad won the Mid-South title and made the program’s first-ever regional championship appearance while registering an overall record of 45-11.
