2018-19 SCOTT McKENZIE SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR

Ryan Serrato #25 (Baseball)
Sr. / 6-3 / First Baseman/Designate Hitter
Hometown: Whittier, Calif.
High School: Bishop Amat Memorial HS

Inside the numbers:
Serrato was stellar in his first-and-only year at Southern Vermont. His .427 batting average and .530 on-base percentage were both the third-best in team history for a single season, and his 31 runs scored are tied for seventh on the program’s single season record chart. The senior was a two-time NECC Player of the Week in addition to being selected to a D3baseball.com Team of the Week and earning an NCBWA DIII National Hitter of the Week Honorable Mention. Serrato was voted to the All-NECC Third Team after helping SVC earn a playoff berth for the first time since 2016.

What Coach Skonieczki is saying:
“It is such a great accomplishment for Ryan to receive this prestigious award. Ryan has been nothing short of outstanding in his time here at Southern Vermont. Not only was he a catalyst in the middle of the lineup, he was also a leader off the field. The little things that often go unnoticed are the reason why I think Ryan has been so dynamic for our program. We were lucky to have Ryan on our campus this season!”
