Men’s Cross Country Places Second for Second Straight Week

NASHUA, NH- The Southern Vermont College Men’s Cross Country team competed at the Daniel Webster College Invitational this past Friday. For the second consecutive week the team finished second. This week the Mountaineers finished with a total of 44 only 13 points behind New Hampshire Tech and 44 points ahead of third place Daniel Webster.

The race had eight teams competing as conference opponents Daniel Webster and Elms also competed. For SVC Victor Velazquez finished fourth, Herson Canta finished fifth, while Ogeka Hesbon finished sixth. Four runners later Michael Ragland came across the line in tenth and Tyler Lazo was the fifth SVC finisher at 19th.

The Mountaineers will host a Men’s and Women’s Cross Country meet next week on the campus of Southern Vermont College. After the collegiate race there will also be a citizens 5K race for anyone who wants to enter.
