Harriers Place Well At SUNYIT


UTICA, N.Y. - The Southern Vermont College men's and women's cross country teams kicked-off its season at the SUNYIT Wildcat Invitational last Saturday with the women finishing in 6th place out of nine teams. The Mountaineers were led by newcomer Maggie Kuntz of South Hadley, Mass. who placed 9th out of 66 harriers in the 5K race with a time of 23:33 which landed her 38th on the all-time runners list at SVC.

The men were led by sophomore Matt Schwab who finished 33rd with a time of 25:26 in the 6K race. Schwab was a seasoned runner in high school growing up in Lambertville, N.J. but took off his freshman year of college. Coach Joe Catania and the Mountaineer harriers look forward to this weekend's Cobleskill Invitational as they prepare for the Mountaineer Invitational Sept. 26th in Bennington.
