Clippers Wipe Out Mountaineers

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - Southern Vermont could not win either game in the Lyndon State and Maine Machias Tri-Match getting shutdown by the University of Maine at Machias to fall to 0-6 on the year.

The Mountaineers could not generate good sets and dropped three in a row: 25-3, 25-12, and 25-7. Freshman Kristen Cummings (New Britain, CT/New Britain HS), junior Laura Sullivan (New Fairfield, CT/New Fairfield HS), and freshman Joa Clairius (Clermont FL, East Ridge HS) each put up two digs.

Southern Vermont could not return the tough serves of the Machias offense. Stephanie Payton served up 12 service aces, 10 assists, and three digs to lead the Clippers to victory.

The Mountaineer Women's Volleyball team will be back on the court Wednesday September 17th against MCLA (North Adams, MA) at 7:00PM on Amsler Gymnasium  at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
