Eagles Slip By Mountaineers In Defensive Battle

BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Southern Vermont College women's soccer team hosted the Daniel Webster College Eagles on Everett Field Saturday afternoon. Both teams played strong defense but a late goal by the Eagles gave them the 1-0 victory.

The Mountaineers fell to 0-10 overall and 0-5 in the NECC while DWC improved to 4-5 overall and 2-2 in Conference action.

The goal came in the 83rd minute from Erin Hurd on an unassisted header past an extended SVC goalkeeper Amber Mulhern. Mulhern had eight saves on the day giving her 99 so far this season. Amy Waller had two saves on the frame for the Eagles.

Southern Vermont will be hosting a non-conference game against the Regis College Pride on Monday, October 12th, at 1:00 p.m. on Everett Field.
