Well Oiled Engineers Slip Past SVC

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Southern Vermont women's basketball team succumbed to Worcester Polytechnic Institute on the road in non-conference action 85-41 Tuesday night. The Mountaineers were led by Julia Fagan, Alyssa Davis, and Joa Claircius who each had 11 points.

SVC (2-2) got down 15-2 in the first five minutes of play against the Engineers (2-2), who led 42-11 at the half. Southern Vermont had a promising 12-0 run in the second half but never could close the gap on WPI.

Sophomore Fagan, last weeks New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, also added 10 boards to give her a double-double in the game (her fourth in as many games).

The Engineers were led by Lauren Hannmann who posted 15 points, 9 rebounds.

The Mountaineers hit the road on Tuesday, December 2, against the College of St. Joseph (Vt.). The tip-off is at 6:00p.m.
