Mountaineers Can’t Swing It With Mariners

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Southern Vermont women's basketball team had two players in double figures compared to Mitchell College's six losing in a lopsided game 92-63 Tuesday. The Mountaineers were led by Joa Claircius (Clermont, Fla.) who had 16 points and Kayla Whitman (Bennington, Vt.) who netted 15 points in the loss.

Mitchell jumped out to an early 27-4 lead and never looked back en route to their second consecutive home win.  The score at the half was 46-16, and the Mariners maintained a healthy lead throughout the second half.

The Mariners were led by Jen Iglesias and Destiney Harris who each scored 21 points.

The Mountaineers head to Bay Path College on Thursday, January 15, in search of a win. Tip-off is at 8:00p.m.
