Alyssa Davis and Softball Team Honored by NECC

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Southern Vermont College Junior, Alyssa Davis received All-NECC First Team for her stellar season on the field. The Softball team also received the NECC Team Sportsmanship Award. Both awards were voted on by the NECC Softball Coaches.

Davis finished the year with a .475 batting average. She had 28 hits, scored 29 runs and drove in nine runners. Davis also showed some power with five doubles, four triples and four homeruns. She had a .738 slugging percentage and a .538 on base percentage. On the base paths Davis stole 21 bases out of 26 attempts.

Davis started all 30 games behind the plate for the Mountaineers. She had a .984 fielding percentage, only committing 2 errors with 107 putouts. Davis also picked up five pick offs on the season.

The Softball team finished the season 0-30. The Mountaineers played nine freshmen on a twelve person roster.
