SVC Softball Falls To Mitchell

BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Southern Vermont College Softball team fell to NECC foe Mitchell College 14-0 and 13-2 Saturday at Willow Park. The highlight of the day for the Mountaineers came when leadoff batter Kayla Whitman (Bennington, Vt.) hit her fifth home run of the year.

The Mariners jumped ahead early in both games as they tallied 33 hits in 10 innings of play against Southern Vermont.

Danielle Tischer (Salem, Conn.) and Whitman took the losses each giving up 12 runs as SVC falls to 2-17 overall and 0-7 in the Conference. Kristina Torres and Karen Fuller got the wins for the Mariners who improved to 11-14-1 overall and 8-3-1 in the NECC.
