Johnson Honored In NECC First POW Honors
BENNINGTON, Vt.- Southern Vermont College Men's basketball player Taeshon Johnson was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week, Monday afternoon. Johnson a junior captain from Charlotte, NC led all scorers in each of the Mountaineers defeats this past week.
Southern Vermont went 0-2 in the opening week of college basketball. SVC lost to third ranked Williams College Friday, before they fell Saturday against SUNY Potsdam. Johnson averaged 27.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds over the week. In the loss to the Ephs on Friday Johnson recorded a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds.
The Mountaineers will take on Skidmore College Tuesday in a rematch of last year's, NCAA record, seven OT game. The game will be in Saratoga at Skidmore with tip-off scheduled for 7PM.
