Baseball to Host Annual Alumni Game
BENNINGTON, Vt.- The Southern Vermont College Baseball team will host its annual Alumni game on October 1st, 2011. The day will be kicked off with Alumni batting practice at 11:15AM. Batting Practice will be followed by a home run derby for the Alumni at 11:45, with the game scheduled for noon. This year’s game marks the fourth consecutive year for the game.
The Alumni game gives the current players and the previous players not only an opportunity to compete against one another, but a chance to meet and mingle. After the game there will be a post game BBQ.
Players who have confirmed they are attending are 2011 graduates; Dan Cook, Dave Gage, Tim Johnson, and Adam Northup. SVC’s shortstop from 2008-2010 Brett Pawlak has committed to the annual event as well. Former 2008 captains Dan Bosely and Steve Nappi have also committed to the game along with ’09 grad Will Foland and ’07 grad PJ Richard. The game does not only bring back recent grads however as 1994 and 1995 captain Chad Levesque will attend his second alumni game. 1997 graduate Bob Burke will play in the game along with Scott Kurzwell and 1990 graduate Paul Micali.
Any former player that is interested in playing in the game should contact Head Baseball Coach Don Schaffer at dschaffer@svc.edu.
