Armstrong, Gage & Warrington Honored by NECC

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Five conference schools were represented on 2011 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Baseball All-Conference Team, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. In addition to the All-NECC honors, four separate major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award were also voted upon and selected this week.

Corey Armstrong, Dave Gage and Pat Warrington all received All-NECC First Team Honors. Southern Vermont finished with an overall record of 18-22 and a NECC record of 10-8.

Gage had a NCAA record setting season at bat. He is currently the career NCAA record holder for Hit by Pitch totaling 82. The previous record was 75. Gage ended the season batting .360, scoring 41 runs, 25 walks, nine stolen bases and a stellar .577 on base percentage.

Warrington finished the year with a team-high .388 batting average, 43 RBI’s, 15 doubles, 27 stolen bases  and 95 touched bases. He compiled five triples and two homeruns. Warrington also had 82 put outs in center field with only four errors.

Armstrong ended the year with a .362 batting average and drove in 33 runners. He totaled five doubles, one triple and one homerun. He also had a team high 27 walks at the plate.
