SVC Baseball Falls To Vikes In 2010 Season Kick-off
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Southern Vermont College baseball team fell in its spring trip kick-off 14-0 against the Vikings of North Park University of Chicago, Illinois Saturday, March 6th at Terry Park in the Gene Cusic Classic. Junior pitcher Mike Giovenco got the win on the mound for the Vikes, while junior Adam Northup took the loss for the Mountaineers.
Junior captain Dave Gage had Southern Vermont's lone hit, a double in the sixth inning. North Park got eight runs in the first inning to give them a strong cushion for the remainder of the game.
The Mountaineers are 0-1, while the Vikings are 3-0 thus far. The two squads are slated to battle again on Monday, March 8th, at 4:00 p.m.
