Dutchman 17, Mountaineers 2
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Southern Vermont baseball team faced a tough opponent in Central College (Iowa) falling in a 17-2 loss. Adam Northup (Richmond, R.I.) and Dan Cook (Watervliet, N.Y.) knocked in the Mountaineers only two runs.
Sophomore Ben Naaktgeboren (Cambridge, N.Y.) started on the mound for SVC. He struck out five and walked three as he gave up four runs on 14 hits. Freshman Ian Valentine (Newfield, N.Y.) was 1 for 1 off the bench with a run scored and a sacrifice bunt to round out the Southern Vermont offensive support.
