Eric returns for his third year on the Mountaineers, the only player with as many. Coming from Thompson, Connecticut, Eric played at Tourtellotte Memorial High School, where he was also the starting quarterback for the varsity football team. He is one of the Mountaineer's top utility players, being able to play outfield, come out of the bullpen, steal bases, and lay down sacrifice bunts, which he led the team last year with four. As a freshman, Eric received the SVC Coach's Award in 2007. The Criminal Justice major is the son of Roberta Gardner and Mark Baublitc.
