Mountaineer Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day, SVC Hearts For Haiti, & WBB Senior Day

BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Southern Vermont College athletic department has a jam packed Saturday, February 13,  in store as it is paying tribute to its campus ambassadors via the Mountaineer Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day. SVC Hearts for Haiti is kicking off with all proceeds going towards the SVC community wide Haiti relief effort. Last but not least the women's basketball team, playing its final home game of the season, will be honoring senior forward Rachel Pannell with Senior Day.

The Mountaineer Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day was created to honor the mentors in the classroom and daily life of each and every student-athlete. Each member of the SVC community holds a vital role in making things run smoothing and helps the SVC experience be fun and life-changing.

The SVC Hearts for Haiti is an initiative to raise money for Haiti in its time of tragedy and rebuilding. Paper hearts will be given to anyone who feels led to donate money this weekend and can then post the heart on the Field House wall with their name on it. Another piece to this is $1 Shots at the halftime of each basketball game. Pay a dollar per shot and if you make a three-pointer, you win a mystery prize!

Pannell will be honored before the women's game which is at 1:00 p.m. The men face off at 3:00 p.m. and the men's volleyball team will serve it up at 7:00 p.m. All games are against Newbury College.
