Alyssa Davis and Sara Simonetti Named NECC Player and Rookie of the Week

BENNINGTON, Vt. - Junior Catcher, Alyssa Davis was named NECC Player of the Week while Freshman Second Baseman, Sara Simonetti was awarded Rookie of the Week.

Davis batted .333 (4-for-12) while going 7-for-7 in stolen bases. In addition to a .417 slugging percentage for the week, she added a .429 on base percentage and a perfect fielding percentage. Davis added four runs and one double to her opening spring break trip.

Simonetti opened up her collegiate career on the Mountaineers’spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. Simonetti had an impressive start despite the 0-5 weekly record. She hit .364, slugged .545 and had a .417 on base percentage. Simonetti hit safely in three of the contests going 4-for-11 chipping in three RBI, one triple and two stolen bases.
